hey you know those "cell phone boosters" they sell on tv and in walmart? do those add any more "signal"? i live in a place that has no cell towers, and I am lucky to get "extended" coverage. i was just lookin for any kind of boost. do they work at all???
I doubt it. I mean, if it was as easy as adding a sticker to a phone to improve the coverage, wouldn't the phone manufacturers also use this so-called technology?
Have you upgraded to GSM? If not, borrow someones GSM phone and see what kind of signal you get where you live. I was skeptical, but I noticed an instant, drastic improvement once I finally upgraded.
They do not work. It's just a sticker they are selling you. If you live in the sticks try a company that offers analog service in addition to digital service. ATT TDMA and Cingular TDMA still offer phones that work in analog mode.
Yeah, I felt like a dumbass for buying it. But last summer I took a few weeks off to chill at Lake Whitney, and my cell phone wouldn't get a signal out there. I'd drive into Hillsboro and the damn things would have like 10 msgs. from the girl I was dating, all worried, so I figured I would give it a shot.
In all honesty, it sure was nice being somewhere where nobody could get in touch with me!!
