Celebrate Texas Obesity

One of the negatives that just makes you wonder why it's important...

"Residents of Houston are 96 percent less likely than average to go snowboarding - the lowest rate in our survey."

As ought to be pointed out every year, this is pretty bogus. It uses all sorts of ridiculous measures.

If you really want to see obesity rates, just check the government stats (CDC and so forth) on obesity. Milwaukee, Detroit, Mississippi... those places have the highest actual obesity.

I must have pushed Vegas over the top when I moved here from Dallas. Go me!!

I just celebrated with a frito pie for lunch, so I'm doing my best to hold up my end of the deal!

basically, if you are a "commuter" city that boomed after 1970, you start out as one of the fattest cities and work your way off the list. that's how it has seemed to me wen i've read the criteria in the past.

Albuequerque, NM as the 3rd fittest city??? What the hell are these writers smoking.
Living in El Paso, i can tell you first had that this is a very, VERY unhealthy city. But Albuequerque makes El Paso look like Ausin.

Seeing how 25% of our state or something doesn't have health insurance and doesn't regularly see a physician I would like to know how they figure out these rates.
