is supposedly announcing his choice between Texas & a&m Friday at noon.
Anybody know anything about this or if there are any new developments in his recruitment???

There's still only one school displayed on his facebook "favorite pages"......texas, longhorns, nike, bible, hook'em, polo, god, texas....you get the point. My friends in cleveland(i grew up there and graduated from Cleveland high) say he's a standup kid with a great family.

their new Defensive coordinator will get that ship turned around quickly. we have to continue to push to stay ahead on both defense and special teams. their offense will probably be better than ours this year with Johnson returning plus the great WR corps and the running backs they have.

My personal opinions:

Reed sign with A&M?_____We have never recruited a class, that could successfully compete for an mnc, since way before we joined the big 12!

I learned back when RC and the wrecking crew first joined the big 12 and accrued their .603 big 12 winning(?) percentage, they were really all time losers when it came to playing for any mnc to attract top recruits!

We have never ever ranked as high as in the top 10 in the final poll, at any time in the big 12, to attract top recruits?

I learned that with Sherman's .312 winning(?) big 12 percentage, that RC and the wrecking crew also support the hiring of todays losing coach.

The way RC and the wrecking crew led us down the path of losing 4 out of almost every 10 games, against other big 12 teams, while also losing to most ranked teams and bowl games, is a shame, to me!

The way Sherman is leading us down the .312 big 12 winning(?) percentage is twice the shame to me, of RC and the wrecking crew._____ I would expect Reed to sign with anybody but us?

I expect Reed to sign with you.

Why would Reed sign with an A&M that has lost more than 4 out of every 10 games against big 12 teams, since it's very beginning?

Our only hope lies in special teams and hopefully some mild edge in defense. The sleeper awakens.

Cedric will watch Sergio get drafted tonight, and possibly Lamar Houston tomorrow night. He can also take a look at the other Longhorn DL from the Mack Brown era who are now in the NFL, which include Casey Hampton, Shaun Rogers, Corey Redding, Brian Robison, Tim Crowder, Roy Miller, and Brian Orakpo.

Seems like an easy decision to me.

so random to have more than one comment on my username on this board and another on the "other sports" board. i've been posting using the same username for almost 5-6 years. the name itself is from the Texas Academy of Math and Science where I went to high school (not Texas A&M or anything agricultural).

anyway, i definitely don't know as much about football as some of the posters here but I try my best. back to football, though, hopefully cedric reed can continue our recent run of uber-talented DEs (orakpo, kindle, eddie jones, acho, okafor, jeffcoat). that's a great run of recruits by coach brown and staff, and anyone would be lucky to follow in those players' footsteps.

as an fyi, reed is announcing tomorrow because it's his deceased mother's birthday...it's his way of honoring her. reed was raised by his father.

regardless of where he ends up, the program is going to be lucky to get a classy young men who will be successful.

sad about cedric's mother. definitely the family atmosphere at texas would be a welcoming environment for him or anyone that has the opportunity to play here. the fact that they've kept a spot for him speaks volumes about the staff's opinion of his talent--considering they passed up other talented DEs that were willing to committ earlier in the recruiting season.
