Cedar Point

Gone To Texas

This summer I plan to fulfill a childhood dream by visiting Cedar Point, Ohio. For anyone who's been there, is one day enough to cover all the rides? What type of lines should we expect on a Saturday and/or Sunday in June? Should we wear jorts to fit in?

I did this exact thing back in the summer of 05. I was a little worried about the lines and stuff too but believe it or not we got to ride every single roller coaster ride with time to spare. There were only two rides with signifigant wait time but they were both worth it. Top Thrill Dragster is like a 30 second ride that we had to wait 3 hours for but it was outstanding. And then we had to wait about 45 minutes for the second tallest one in the park. All the others were only short waits. Very cool. Granted this was on a Friday I believe so that might have had a signifigant impact on the lines. You should have a great time. You absolutely MUST wear jorts though. No ****. Dress code is strictly enforced by the park. The only way out of jorts is a sports jersey.

What's the name of the large wooden roller coaster there? That thing was fantastic. Much more "hurtling through dense wooden structure at breakneck speeds" than any roller coaster I can recall. The Raptor was fun, too.

(Oh, we did it in a day, and it was jorts as far as the eye could see.)

Thanks for the tips. Hopefully we'll have a similar experience. Guess I'm going to have to muster up the courage to wear jorts.

The Gemini is the wooden one. Talk about a jerk fest. ouch.
A day shoudl be enough but the weekend lines are longer. If you could stay for two days I would and go to the water park too.
June can be hot and muggy in Ohio so I would keep and eye on the weather. What is a jort?

Google is pretty useful for looking stuff up on the webs.

Jorts = Jean shorts
