Cedar floors in closet - yea or nay?

I'm remodeling the closet and was thinking about ripping out the carpet and laying down some cedar plank floors. It's a walk-in, but fairly small. A "step-in", really.

Problem is nobody in town seems to sell such a thing. I Googled it and, while I see it talked about a lot, I can't find anybody on-line who actually seems to sell it. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough.

Thoughts?

Try these places. I've seen tongue and groove aromatic cedar at Baillie (formerly Hogan and Paxton) that is used in drawers or closet walls. I don't think it's typically used on floors because it's fairly soft and would tend to get distressed easily. Lining the wall, though, works nicely. You could even limit it to a wainscot if you wanted to keep it simple and still be effective. Aromatic cedar does need to be lightly sanded occasionally to get down to fresh oils, so keep that in mind.

This advice is sound. It is too soft on its own. Use it for shelving or for walls, something like that. It will not only help with moths but fleas as well. They don't like the stuff. So if you have pets you can help minimize their realm above and beyond other measures. Plus your closet will smell nice, if you like the smell of cedar.
