CBS Commentator/Memphis

I can't remember the name of the CBS commentator that repeatedly said that Texas should have driven to the lane with DJ and then kicked out to Abrams, Atchley or James on the perimeter if we were going to have any kind of success with a team as big as Memphis. Wonder why we did not make this kind of adjustment at the half? If nothing else, it might have been closer.

No doubt in my mind Barnes did a bang up great job this year after losing Durant and it makes you wonder "what if" Durant would have stayed and the rest of the team played at this level.

I will hope DJ stays and everyone else returns for next year.

Thanks for the Elite 8 and Big 12 title BARNES/HORNS!!

Shot selection was an issue. We needed to slow down the game and cut down on turnovers. We did one of those in the 2nd half.

Not sure Packer's suggestions would have made a difference, given their team length and speed.

Memphis was guarding the kickout. There was nobody to pass to. And DJ was dwarfed by Memphis' taller guards. He would drive and have nobody to pass the ball to, but his shots were all off-balance ones in an attempt to not get rejected.

Are you seriously saying that Barnes should have listened to a commentator about what adjustments to make? DJ was in the paint all game. When he kicked it out they missed the shot. When he took the shot it the paint he didn't finish. Not much Barnes could have done about that. Go back and watch the game...DJ went by the Memphis players all game. The guys just didn't make shots.

Any time DJ did drive he got hammered.

When they didnt call it on both ends, thats when you start questioning your offense to work.

Billy Packer is an idiot who thinks he is some basketball god. You would think he coached 30 Final Four teams based on his self-righteous commentary.
