Catheter Ablation

Anyone on here had this procedure done before? I'm having it done next week, and even though it's supposedly low-risk, I'm scared shitless.

What the EP Doc will do is place a catheter on a part of your heart that is firing off rhythm and ablate or heat/kill that area of the heart that is misfiring. Don't be afraid, I used to sell into the cath/EP lab and have seen 100s of these procedures. You should be awake so the Doc can ask you questions about how your are feeling as he does the procedure. Good luck, you should be fine.

A friend of mine had that surgery 3-4 years ago... at age 25. It went smoothly, but he was frustrated with the recovery process.

Everything worked out, but he had to be cautious w/exercising for the first few months i believe... walks around the block, etc... he was a runner, so the slow process of building back up was frustrating to him.

For some reason when I read the subject I thought it would be about getting something pulled out of your um, special parts. So really, look at the bright side.

Thanks for the info. Date got changed to July 24, which sucks, but oh well. Hopefully the EP will get my heart to slow down a little so I can get back to being outdoors.
