Just doing my homework, I'll be taking a friend there for graduation, and it will be my first time. Any dishes/appetizers I should try? Anything to avoid?

For an appetizer I recommend:

Fried Brie with Seasonal Chutney - A wedge of breaded and fried brie. Served with seasonal chutney and sliced French bread.

I really like their cheese torta for an appetizer and I also like their Sea Bass, but it isn't always on the menu. Otherwise, their beef tenderloin with hollandais sauce is great too.

I like their pate as an appetizer. Also, their sausage & duck gumbo is great.

For an entree, I think their pork tenderloin dish (which they always seem to have in one variety or other) is solid.

The wine list is really good by the glass, and they give big pours.

menu changes regularly. great place. they have some southwestern salad that i really like. second on the duck gumbo.

I don't know why, but I have never had a good experience there. I realize that most people love the place, but I've had bad service, cold food, overpriced food, and (worst) food containing nuts when i specifically told the waitstaff that I am severely allergic to nuts. I'm never going back.

Good luck.

Wow, ate there tonight, not disspointed at all. Got the pork tenderloin. Outstanding. Service was great, always there when you needed something, but not "hovering," I hate it when waiters hover. Definetely be heading back.
