Castle dental questions

Anyone know anything about dentistry?

My new dental insurance pretty much only covers Castle Dental, so I can't go to any of the Austin dentists my family uses. I went in for my first appointment today (and first in several years - no insurance until now). They won't give a cleaning during the initial appointment. They told me I need some sort of extra super deep cleaning, which, unlike a regular cleaning, is a $357 surcharge on top of my insurance. I also need a couple filling, and the out of pocket prices for these seemed quite high (about $450 for four fillings). I'm on the state's Aetna DMO.

Questions: Should I spring for the deep cleaning? Is Castle a racket designed to prey on the ignorant? Should I go to my family dentists and pay out of pocket? Will Castle at least do a good job on the fillings? Any advice is appreciated.

Go to a badass private Dentist.

Get the gas, the music, the hand massage.

It will cost you the exact same.

Dental insurance is a joke.

$357 on top of the basic charge sounds totally fraudulent

i wouldn't do that

and what the hell is a super deep cleansing? that sounds like something they made up
