Cassie and Nneka earned big time recognition from Peachstatehoops during the Nike Skills Academy this past weekend in Houston (Nneka's last name is spelled wrong, but we know who she is)!!!!!!!

I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again...I'm very excited about having Cassie and Nneka in burnt orange and on the floor together for four years...thanks for the link!

And, Cassie also moved up to #21 overall, so our 2011 class looks really impressive so far. Our other commit, Brady Sanders, had a great junior campaign, and I've read some great things about her.

Despite losing out on Amber Henson, I'm hopeful we can reel in a couple of frontcourt players and/or wing players with height, versaitlity, and the ability to shoot from beyond the arc.

ESPN (Hoopgurlz) now lists Nneka Enemkpali as only "considering" Texas and not as a "verbal". Their site also indicates she has "decommitments". Anyone know anything about this?

The change must have just occured the last day or so, but perhaps its an error....no doubt someone with more info will post additional details. Interesting that this comes after Forthan went from having the Ags as the only school she was considering to also showing undelcared and not considering any schools at this time....and according to Nneka's updated blurb on Hoopgurlz she and Forthan are AAU teammates. Perhaps the two changes aren't related but it seems a little strange to me.

ESPN (Hoopgurlz) now has a little more info about Nneka Enemkpali reopening her recruitment:

Nneka Enemkpail, the 6-foot-1 forward from Pflugerville, Texas, has reopened her recruitment, her father Chinedu Enemkpali told ESPN HoopGurlz.

"We want to enable her the chance to really look into the recruiting process and make sure that she finds the school that best fits her needs," Enemkpali said in an email. "She is still very interested in Texas."

Interesting that the Horns signed her when she really wasn't on the radar nationally, and then suddenly she appears on the Hoopgurlz list and gets a nice mention, and within a day or two has re-opened recruiting. Let's hope she looks around and recommits to the Horns....I don't think she's going to find a better opportunity or classier program and coaching staff anywhere else.

Nneka never "signed" with Texas; only a non-binding verbal commitment. Since she's a frontcourt player, it could be that Coach DeMoss' departure had something to do with Enemkpali's decommitment . . .
