Casinos in Chicago!!

My mom just called and told me that there is a casino here in Chicago and to get my butt over there and have some fun for her! Haha.....doesn't sound like a bad idea....

if its close to gary, be careful. ive heard its not very nice. take a friend, preferably a large one.

Harrah's Joliet. Decent blackjack and craps tables. Lots of slot machines for locals. No poker rooms, no sports gambling and no free drinks.

However, hotel rooms are nice and often relatively cheap for Chicago area.

I've been to the Gary Casino Boat...all I can say is stay the HELL AWAY!

First, you have to take a urine/ vomit soaked "free shuttle" to lovely Gary, IN. Where you will board an oversized party boat, amidst the fading glory of Gary's "historic" dockyard. Then you pay for the privilege of being taken out on Lake Michigan, along with the cast of a low budget late '70's Crime Drama. Then you're given the honor of paying for your cocktails. Then you lose your @$$ because no one knows how to play, the dealers have to use 6 sleeve automatic shufflers and if you dare roll your eyes when the jack@$$ sitting next to splits tens, it's usually a fight or the pit boss gives you the stink eye for saying "nice play".

As you may have guessed, I'm not a fan of casinos in the Chicago area. I haven't played the ones on the river, but I assume they are like the ones in Iowa and MO, which suck almost as bad as Gary. For gambling I will stick to Vegas and maybe Tunica thank you very much...save your time and $ and go there instead. Sorry for the rant, just my $.02...
