Carvinal Ecstacy national championship

My family somehow managed to book a cruise during the National Championship game.

I know the odds are slim, but did anyone else make this same mistake and will be there too?

If so I'd love to meet up on the ship during the game and catch the game over a few drinks.

The oldest ship in the Carnival family. Took that ship out of Galveston 3 years ago. I don't even remember there being any tv's on board.

All the rooms have TVs. I'm not sure of the channel range, but hopefully would have network coverage.

I still think sea sickness your best bet. Or call in a bomb threat. Bad timing bro.

Claim you have thalassoharpaxophobia (fear of pirates).

I cruised on that ship in Dec. 07 and there was football available in the bars on Sunday. However none if those games were on ABC.

Not good news...I read that their satelites are based out of Denver...I'll have to call them and get the lowdown....if not I hope the internet isn't too pricy...

I was on that ship during Hurrican Katrina. There are TV's in the room I know they have at least the weather channel, CNN, and I think one more news station. So I'm sure that the NC game would be on. Especially if they have redecorated since then.

I'm actually going to be on a Cruise as well. Voyager of the Seas with Royal Caribbean leaving for 7 nights January 3rd to be exact.

They have TV's in the rooms and a sports bar on board so I should be fine. I've already posted a thread about it myself. This'll be my first cruise so I wasn't sure, haha.

I would assume Carnival would at least be able to get ABC as well.

I just got back from the Conquest yesterday. Freak of bad luck w/ the weather overall. We spent a day and a half locked down in Galveston due to heavy fog. Had to drop one of the Bahamas stops, and then lost major time heading back to the mainland, into the wind Key West.

They also did NOT have ABC. The feed from Denver is not consistent from day to day either, but it's moot since they don't have ABC. They did seem to have some form of ESPN international and/or some other soccer channel. I would assume each boat would have identical Satellite feeds. Good luck in trying to get an answer. Although I doubt you would be able to contact anyone who would really be in the know abt other options. They can't guarantee it anyway, you will be at the mercy of the seas.

As said previously...do NOT get on that boat. Offer it up to an aunt or uncle, or just fake your own death.

I work in the travel business and notified our Carnival rep of this situation. She is going to notify the Hotel Director on the ship that does have the ability to get any US feed as long as prior arrangements are made. Since the Carnival Ecstasy strongly caters to a Texas audience I think your chances of viewing the game are excellent.
