I know his reputation was tarnished by the joke stealing youtube stuff but let me tell you - last night this guy owned the club. If you ever get the chance to go see him at a small venue I highly recommend it. I have never heard a better set in person. Whoever's jokes they were - kudos.

My friend's ad company made his Super Bowl ad. Even though it was kinda funny, I told her I didn't approve since all it did was encourage him.

I have a good friend who is a standup comedian and he told me that Mencia's "writers" basically go to a ton of shows and steal jokes. Mencia stole one of his bits as well. No way I would go see a guy like that.

They all steal, he just does it more blatantly... Same argument they use for steroids in baseball.

If you can't be funny on your own, then you aren't funny... You just deliver the lines well.
