I am going to NYC for NYE with the wifey and rug rats. We land at Newark at about 2:30 on a Friday afternoon. Since we will have all our luggage, the tram from the airport to Penn Station is not really an option. Any suggestions on a car service and, more importantly, are the tips/tolls etc already included.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Midtown:

Is that a cab service? I was looking more for a private car service and looking to see if the price difference between the service and the cab would be worth it.

That's Tel-Aviv car service. If you want a cab go to the cab stand. Going to be about the same price.
The Link

you might consider the super shuttle or the bus to PA.

and the other big one is carmel: 666-6666

I like tel aviv better.

the tolls should be included in whatever price they give you. tip is extra. and you can pay them with credit card as well--tell them you'll be doing so after they give you the price when you reserve.

actually, we just got that for the majority of cabs too now.

I use 6's and 7's once or twice a week, and I've been stood up or badly delayed by both. Besides, the carmel commercial that runs at 7:20 and 8:20 every morning on NY1 is unforgiveable. I'd love it if someone had a solid recommendation of someone else similarly priced (ie, not Boston Coach).

PSA - In SF the only way to go is A.Quick Limo 800.883.8999/650.875.6209. They are a moroccan family business with brand new cars, about the same price as cabs. Brahim and his brother Noor. Great guys, 100% reliable.

Thanks for the info.

I'm not going to use the train, though. My wife and kids will have their luggage and it is a pretty good haul from baggage claim over to the train. Also, it is $12 per person and then we would need to cab or subway it from Penn Station to the hotel. I'm just lazy and don't want to carry my family's **** for them for several blocks, nor do I want to stand in the cab line on a Friday afternoon at Newark.

Wife + Kids + Luggage + Same price as train? As you've already concluded take a car.

I find Tel Aviv to be a little more timely.

i use tel aviv every time and never had an issue. theywebsite will tell you price as well. from midtown to LGA is like 40 bucks. you can't ******* beat that. i think a cab cost me $30 one time before i knew about the service.

My company uses Skyline (the link) and I've had pretty good service at the three airports and in midtown. We often have to take a car to/from Weehawken, and the wait is understandably much longer than other locations for pick-ups.

US Helicopter

Leaves from Terminal C, right among the Continental gates.
Goes to either Wall Street or 34th St. in midtown.
Travel time is 8 minutes.
$159 each way.

That's a shitload to spend for a family of four, but it'll be your kids favorite part of the trip.
