Car Redesign

My wife's car lease is expiring in May and I'm beginning my manly duty to research our next car. I'm presently looking at the BMW 335i, Infiniti G37 and Audi A4 2.0 and would like to know how to find out when the manufacturers are coming out with a new body style or redesign?

General timeline for major overhaul of a body style seems to be about 5 years. Just enough time for MFG's to conceive major design changes before consumers get bored.

If you're looking at the 335i, look at the 2009 BMW 335d.
BMW's first 50-state-legal diesel, a twin-turbo, 3.0L straight-six that delivers 265 hp at 4220 rpm, and a thumping 425 lb-ft of torque between 1750 and 2250 rpm. Driving through a six-speed automatic transmission, BMW claims this engine will propel the 335d from 0 to 60 mph in 6.0 sec while delivering 23 mpg city and 36 mpg on the highway.

My ex had a 335 and it is a great car, I can see why those "in the know" always rate it very high, but I would take the G37, rear wheel drive and less "sporty" and more "luxury" of the 2. Can't comment on the Audi.

If you get look at the Audi do not get the FWD version. 1. the drive feel sucks, and 2 you will not be comparing apples to apples with the rear wheel drive 335 and G37. make sure to check the quattro. My advice is go drive them all, and pick the one you like best. All are good cars with different characteristics in which they excel.
