Car Issues - High Water

I hit a patch of high water in Houston at a pretty high speed yesterday (not paying attention) and my car started acting up. The check engine light came on and for a short time the car wasn't shifting gears (stayed in third of fourth). Everything seemed to be working fine this morning but the check engine light and a gear box light stayed on. Could everything have dried up and the computer just needs to be reset or are there more likely deeper issues. Any thoughts appreciated

Either is possible. Have someone with a scanner read and record the codes, then erase the codes.
If they do not come back, you have no worries. If they come back and are the same codes, then you have a problem in that system. My guess is, they will not return. Some places might do this for free, like AutoZone stores (they used to read them for free).
