Car Insurance Question

So, i was in Seattle over the holidays and I rented a car to get around the city and drive to Vancouver. On the last day of my trip my gf and I pack up our little car, which after 2 weeks of traveling/shopping/gifts et al, could not fit all of our stuff in the trunk, so we had some stuff in the back seat. We head down to Pikes Market for a last bit of sight-seeing, and in the middle of the day on a busy *** street, our back window gets busted on our car and they steal a bag. Not too big of a deal apart from the window since I didn't get the insurance -- i was in a hurry to get to Vancouver on NYE and the car rental place was f'ing slammed. Oops.

Turns out my insurance is allsome and paid for the window. But now another company, apparently who Advantage contracts called "Subrogation Management" (its a collection agency -- not sure why they were ever involved) wants to charge a $100 admin fee. What the ****?! For what exactly?? Anyone ever heard of something like this or have any idea what to do to avoid paying a ridiculous fee that I had no control over?

Thanks!

I work for an insurance company and that's pretty normal. If you call them and explain what happened, sometime they waive it (my company has been known to), but I'm guessing you're out of luck on this one. And yes, if it's not paid, they are bulldogs with the collections.
