Eric Cantor gave up his $72K salary for the final 5 months of his term in order to make $1.4M on Wall Street. So much for "the honor of serving the 7th District." You think they figured out this guy?
I'll bet his total compensation package is north of $1.4M annually. That seems light for a BOD member of a Wall Street firm, especially one as connected as him.
This is typical of everyone that leaves Capitol Hill though. Whether they become a lobbyst or company leader, it's very common to parlay the low paid "public servant" for very high paid political/financial assassins.
Were I in that position I don't think I'd be able to walk away from the cash either so I don't fault them.
