Can't believe the brainlessness of some people

Saw a couple of smoldering cigarette butts on the sidewalk near the game, one of which was right next to the grass. I would have said something had I been able to tell who tossed it. This older gentleman next to me went over and stamped it out and I said something about how thoughtless someone has to be to do that. He said he'd seen one a few minutes before that someone had tossed right onto some dead grass.

Seriously, people, I know it's just a tiny minority out of 100k at the game, but are 84+ fires over the span of a week not enough to make the point to safely dispose of your burning residue?

Another really stupid thing. We set up our tailgate grill on the concrete to keep from catching the grass on fire and a UT employee came by and told us we couldn't have it on the concrete He made us move it to GRASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you ought to be able to toss burning, smelly, slobbered-on, barely biodegradable stuff wherever you want to with total disregard to who has to pick it up or if it will burn people's homes down.

Maybe it was tossed without consideration of consequence because the smoker was trying to get out of the way of some 'entitled' person backing his car out our pulling into his designated parking space!!!

There are two things about smokers I will never understand: their propensity for thoughtlessly discarding butts (often without extinguishing them first) and their habit of smoking right in front of building exits. I see this all the time from people who are otherwise well-educated, intelligent, thoughtful, and considerate. It just baffles me, it really does.

As far as determining who discarded the butt the OP saw, I'm pretty sure it had a DNA sample in there somewhere.

I was once a cigarette smoker, but I think they should be outlawed. They do nothing that makes them worthwhile, other than provide tax revenue.

I get very upset when I talk about the evils of smoking and the thoughtlessness of smokers, so I will stop here.
