Candlebox

The greatness that is Candlebox was in San Antonio. Very good show. Of course, their old stuff was excellent, and, surprisingly, their new stuff was pretty good, too. Scout bar is a hporrible venue with not alot of restroom facilities.

Overall, I would gladly have paid more for the show they put on last night.

13 yrs ago or so i saw candlebox at fair park coliseum. flaming lips opened for them. candlebox was terrible. they should have been the opener

I saw them open for Rush at the Erwin Center in 1994, I think.

They weren't bad, but they weren't great.

I did enjoy their first album, but haven't heard anything from them since.

I guess the Flaming Lips used to open for anyone, anywhere. I saw them around the same time I saw the Rush show, and they opened for Tool, of all bands.

I think I saw them in Austin around '93-'94 when I played that CD a little too much during my freshman year at UT...

I was at a bar once when a guy playing pool table started playing the air guitar with a pool stick and singing loudly to some Candlebox song. Some guy high fived him and he exlaimed that "the 'Box" rocked." That is all.

Air guitar to "The Box"! That would have been hilarious. To me, that would be similar to seeing Soulja Girl on the MARTA.... just one of those mythical beasts that I never get to see, only hear about or catch later on youtube.

Candlebox signaled the end of Grunge and the Seattle band scene. They were the last of the bands to make it "big". I was surprised to find out they were still around until perusing iTunes I noticed they just released a new album.

The went and saw the lead singer and his band Kevin Martin and the Hi-Watts about a year ago and he had some good songs. The album was actually pretty good.
