Cancel the final four, it's over

Kansas already hung the banner up in the fieldhouse, they'll just unveil it in a week. There's no one left to give them a game, unless it's Kentucky, but I doubt it. This has to be the easiest path to an NC ever.
UConn, Arizona? Maybe they could stay within 10. Probably not.

Hell, at this point I just want AZ to beat UCONN so there are ZERO Big East teams in the final four after starting with eleven.

yeah, Dickie V. called it the Kansas invitation yesterday before the games were played. I think he was talking about their region, but now, you could say that about the entire tourney.

Arizona will peter out at some point. no way they stay this hot from 3 point land for the rest of the tourney.

When does Kansas play NC? I was very impressed with them. I think that would actually be a good game.

Its the "Fortunate Four" as in fortunate to not to have Dick Catwell (or whatever the hell his name was) ref'ing their games.

Still pissed about that.....NCAA tourney can F itself.

If Butler beats Florida, I wouldn't go handing the game to KU just yet. Fear the Bulldog...why? Because nobody does and they keep sending teams packing. Then either UK or UConn could give them a battle. By no means would I assume the final two KU games are locks. Yes, the Jayhawks have dominated so far...but who? Boston, Ilinois, and Richmond??? Please. Next they dispose of VCU and still haven't played a heavy hitter. You don't think tOSU would have spanked all of these teams so far and looked unbeatable too if they had the KU draw? When KU gets around to these strong teams in the final four, those opponents will have been through hard adversity and prevailed. That could easily be in the battle-tested teams favor when it comes to crunch time. I know of 3 other 1-seeds that aren't too happy they were upset as well...all were favorites. This is March Madness, the surprises aren't over just yet.

Fear the Bulldog...Florida is not KU, yet they had a big size advantage and were still out-boarded by a ferocious Butler effort. Actually, Butler did everything to lose that game. They played much worse than their norm...40% from floor, 27% from 3 and 63% from the stripe. Their norm is 44% from floor, 36% from 3, and 73% from FT. And with a subpar game and battling two 6-10's and a 6-8 down low, they prevail and win the rebound edge. I'd also have to assume the Houston crowd will be backing the Dogs as well. KU is far from safe. That is assuming VCU doesn't bite them first.

Has a team ever made the NC final without facing a 7 seed or better? It's crazy to think Butler will be the highest-seeded team Kansas will have played.

My b racket has the Tar Heels beating Pitt, so, I'm still in this thing.

I think Kansas is good, but not A+ level good.

borna_horn great comment. Didn't even think of it that way. Honestly they will have one real opponent before the NC final and still a high seed. Sucks to think if we had beaten them in Lawrence this all would be ours, and playing VCU in SA, and then off to Houston. I know those other losses factored in, but winning that one in Big12 tourney final likely woulda landed us Boston, Illinois, then Richmond and VCU in SA to get to Final Four. And seeing what Zona did after we got robbed of beating them, it's not as insuting of a loss as it once seemed competition wise. They thrashed Duke and then had two shots to bounce UConn at the end.

Nothing is a given this year. Upsets are the norm. If KU isn't on their game, any team left could beat them. Nothing surprises me anymore in college BB.

lots of ball left to be played, but KU has a great shot. They have are deep, tough inside and can shot the 3 ball, also play good defense. Uconn is hot right now and kemba is a one man force that must be held to less than 25 pts

Look a few posts up and you will note that someone astutely pointed out that KU could be beaten by anyone left.

That included VCU.

No way KU will lose to a double-digit seed. Sure they did twice in a row a couple of years ago, but no way this year.

If that happened it might even make those big, bad Morris twins cry.

Not sure who, but the announcer did point out a KU player was crying. I hate to say it, but a 1-point loss (robbed of win) to an Arizona team that proved to be formidable may have been a far easier pil to swallow than what just happened to KU. Imagine if we had gotten our *** handed to us by VCU in San Antonio, one win away from Final Four. My anger and disappointment would have far exceeded the sting we felt by getting robbed. VCU flat out beat that *** of the cocky Jayhawks. They shouldn't tried to bully the weaker teams in the tunnel both games before this one. Karma is a mofo, Gayhawks.
