Great result for BMW, and the first ever Polish born Grand Prix winner, Robert Kubica.
But why was there a red light in the pits with the leaders trying to leave the pits, which resulted in the two best cars crashing out of the race? Shouldn't you be able to leave the pits if they allow you into the pits? I didn't understand this.
Sure, Hamilton should have seen the red light, but there were cars all around zooming away from their pit stops, and he obviously did not see the light, and didn't expect cars to stop right in front of him. Really irritating.

Not the way F1 works. The stewards will not let cars out of the pit if they believe they will be creating a dangerous situation on the track.

Hamilton should be penalized 10 grid positions for the next two races, rather than just the next race.

Since they started using a safety car in F1 in the early 90s the pit exit has always been closed when the safety car is passing the pits. This is to prevent cars exiting the pits & trying to blend into the line of cars behind the SC.

Kubica, also, is truly a master, among the top handful of drivers, imho.

Agree about this result for BMW. That is a team to be reckoned with in the near future, imho. The improvement they've made in a short time is nothing short of astonishing.

LH's penalty seems fair enough, imho. He was unable to finish the race and will be penalized grid spots in France. Massa and Fisi have been black flagged for running the red light in the last year as well. Any others? I can't recall.

I don't really follow F1 that closely, but I do know that I absolutely can't stand Lewis Hamilton.
