Can you float the Blanco River?

Some friends of mine & I are planning a May or June camping trip and considering Blanco River State Park. Just curious if you can tube it, ie are there small places that rent tubes for you?

There are pools you can float in, but the lack of water flow usually limits you to that localized activity.

Call the Ranger Station at Blanco State Park in Blanco.

Ask about the Blue Hole and the dinosaur tracks, which are outside the park boundaries but close by.

Most floaters find more opportunity where the Guadalupe River crosses Hwy. 281, a few miles south, at Spring Branch.

what FAST FRED said. There are basically 2 sections of the Blanco River that is dammed up in the park. Not much flow to speak and a bit weedy in areas. I am not aware of any outfitters that service this stretch either. Nice park for fishing though.

A short drive south to the Spring Branch (281) crossing of the Guad is better suited for floating and there is an outfitter there,The Link that provides rentals, drop offs and camping spaces.
