Can we please stop lifting our best hitters

for defensive substituions. Came back to bite us in the *** against Army which prolonged that game and then again tonight. We can't have players that bat .174 in the game no matter how good their defense is in the field. Questionable whether there's room on a team for someone with that low an average, but that's for another discussion.

Maitland is clueless. Looked at 3 straight strikes in the 11th. Unreal. Lusson boys are no better. Cannot figure why Augie does this.

With a 2 run lead, making defensive substitutions seems like the thing to do as we've done it all year. Though against Army, Keyes was pulled probably an inning too early.

Not sure why he pulled Moldenhauer. Lets hope we are able to come back in game 2.

The defensive substitutions were entirely reasonable, who knows why we subbed for Moldy, but had it worked, Augie would be a genius.

These players have made it to major college baseball. They were the studs of their teams, each and everyone coming up through the ranks. How bad can their defense be? I mean really, like was stated previously, a 2 run error come on.

I love Augie to death, and I understand his line of thinking going for speed in the outfield on defense, but it backfired tonight by taking the bat out of the hands of two of our best hitters. It sucks to lose like this! Lets get 'em tomorrow night guys!

The Horns hit home runs early and often against good pitching for a reason... the lineup had better hitters. IMO, momentum slowly shifted after the Horns made lineup changes. Better get'em tomorrow.

Stop bitching. It only bit us because our relief pitchers didn't show up. If you're going to *****, how about putting the blame squarely where it lies--the pitching staff today.

Well here's a little factoid, LSU is the best hitting team in the tournament, we were/are not going to shut them down. We need all the offense we can get.

Problem is that the defensive subs are much weaker hitters.

Taking out Moldenhauer was based on a righty-lefty switch. Did Augie get snookered by Mainieri on that one? Maybe.

I have enough trouble with the constant bunting, but he's not ordering it now, so I guess it's not constant. The defensive subs is a common strategy, but it's hard to tell if it was a good idea when nobody hits a ball to a guy that he can catch that the other guy couldn't.
