Can someone please explain

why Georgia didn't bring in their stud closer Josh Fields until 2 outs in the 9th inning of the final game last night? I cannot figure out why they didn't put him out there in the 4th or 5th inning and tell him to throw that 95mph heat until his arm fell off. There was no tomorrow, and he was the best they had. Any ideas?

That said, I was cheering for Fresno, so I was happy they didn't!

Perno uses Fields like a major league closer -- almost always just the ninth. I think his longest outing this season was 1.1 innings.

That's a hideously stupid way to use your best arm, especially in college.
