Can I take this support out of my attic?

I am about 90% sure I can remove it, bput would like to have some assurance from other folks.

On one end of my attic there is a 2x4 at a 25 or so degree angle that looks like it was a temporary support for the outside side of the framing. Sort of a get it plump support to start the framing. I can see no stuctural use for this with the decking complete. There is not a similar support on the other end of the roof.

Since it's right by the attic drop door in my garage it is screwing with an area I want to deck out for attaic storage that is in easy reach.

Can you post a picture? I'd be VERY hesitant about removing any roof support or cross beam without being damn sure about it.

You could also ask the opinion of a builder or general contractor, don't know if they'd want to charge you for their opinion though.

HAh- super busy weekend, Soccer games, dress rehearsal, two kids plays and of course crappy weather that was an emotional downer.

I am going to take the support out because it is not load bearing and appears to only be a "starter" support designed to hold up the outside wall at the beginning of framing.

though if I never post again you will know what happened.
