for a cross town move?

Its for my mother. She has nice things so I need someone who knows how to not scratch and drop stuff. Its also good if they have a track record of showing up and delivering on time. A generally respectable appearance is a plus too as mom is usually not down with "the prison look" as she calls it.

Thanks in advance.

I can tell you to stay away from Apple Moving! They messed up a couch and big screen of mine from dragging them through a courtyard...even had grass, stains, and leaves on the them when we got to the new place. Without getting into the whole situation...just stay away from them.

My wife and I used Blue Whale when we moved out to Westlake. We have a decent amount of antique furniture as well as a piano and a 200yearold grandfather clock. We also have two arcade games that had to be moved up stairs, two other large Sit-down type arcade games, and a handful of large TVs. Nothing was damaged at all. The movers were quick, on-time and very friendly. They dressed fine, but ummm were very large football player-esque guys, and they joked around a bit with each other. This might intimidate some people, maybe.

Anyway I've also read a bad review on here about Blue Whale, so take that for what its worth as well. We, as I've said, had no problems whatsoever and would consider them first for another move.

i used first choice moving, who was previously owned by a poster here - I had heard great things when Put Simms In owned them. i was not impressed - guess change in ownership made things worse. most pieces of my furniture were scratched/damaged. When he noticed one of the shelving units was damaged, he said he'd "get in touch" and let me know what he was going to do about it. Never happened. I probably should call, but I honestly don't feel like dealing with it.
