camping in east Texas

Any suggestions for camping sites near or in the Angelina National Forest where I may go birdwatching towards the end of April? The wives would most likely require a facility with showers and hot water. Good hiking trails would be a plus. This is car tent camping. Ability to avoid camping next to a 60 foot RV with a generator running all night is also a plus.

Martin Dies State Park is an excellent park, located just below the Angelina National Forest.

The drive-in camping at the Hen House Ridge Unit is very easy, and the bath/shower facilities near campsites 60-65 are very nice.

The Walnut Ridge Unit is a little more primitive, and has some good hiking opportunities.

Here's a map.

Radcliff lake is good, have camped there a ton of times - near nacogdoches/lufkin

Caddo lake is great - further north though
