Camping in Austin?

Are there any good sites near Mt. Bonnell? Trying to take some out-of-staters Memorial Day weekend and I've never camped Austin.

You mean you're actually wanting to sleep somewhere? *IN* Austin? Sure, I guess you could do that. Bums do it all the time.

So, since I'm assuming you'll actually be sleeping
, you should try Emma Long, Lost Pines, or Paleface. Emma Long is the closest to the city limits.

How about under I-35 near downtown?

Apart from that, McKinney Falls state park, off 183 south, is the closest. Apart from that, try Pedernales Falls (off 290 West near Johnson CIty) or Pace Bend (out off 71 West), or Inks Lake. All good spots
