Calvert decommits from Baylor

Not sure what's going on at BU! She is in the class of 2014 and has been committed since 8th grade.

"Last week Calvert and her parents visited Baylor during the Lady Bears' team camp, which solidified their decision to reopen the recruiting process, and on Monday night notified Baylor coach Kim Mulkey by phone of McKenzie's decision to decommit."

Well, we've had our share of decommitments, too, unfortunately.

But, her high school teammate, Krya Lambert, decommitted from A&M a few months ago. Will be interesting to see if they both start considering the same schools . . .

You wont catch me crying for Baylor one bit. While I still hold Kim in the highest regards, im amazed at the backlash the program is facing in the "post griner" era. They're blaming Griner for her words and actions now, but excusing her sexuality and personality being supressed for four years? You cant have it both ways. If your beliefs cause you to want a child to hide who they truly are, then why recruit them? If you can accept them for what they do on the court, then you damn well better support and own what they do off the court. I think DT was spot on in this article with her thoughts on BUThe Link

With the program now in shambles, I think KA and GW are in a prime position to step in and pick up the pieces. Getting her and Kyra Lambert would put this program in a fantastic place moving forward. I realize this will take some manuevering because scholorship numbers may not allow it, but for players of this caliber Im sure we can find a way to make room
