Calling all lawyers....

Wow. I've got a really stupid question.

So, I'm going in front of a child support judge/referee on May 21st. It's not as bad as it sounds. Basically, the child support office never got the most recent paperwork and has been erroneously showing me as behind in my CS. Not sure whom dropped the ball but I'm not really worried about the speaking/documentation aspect of the hearing.

What I do have a question about is this:

Regardless of what the judge decides, who actually writes up the court order? My assumption was that the judge makes a determination and the lawyers - based off the judge's notes - actually type up the order. Am I wrong in this assumption?

I guess my question pertains to what happens after the judge makes a decision and I walk out of the courtroom. I don't have a lawyer. The case is so cut-and-dry that my daughter's mother won't even be there. Therefore, there will be nobody involved in my case by the judge and myself.

Go ahead and type up a proposed order for the judge to sign. The clerk may be able to tell you where to get some forms.
