I wouldn't be overly keen on re-signing a 68 year old with a history of health problems to a 5 year contract. Yes, I understand it's not just any 68 year old, but I think this is a poor investment for their school and their program.

According to the athletic director "Jim's age never played into these conversations," he said. "Jim's health never played into these conversations. The NCAA review never played into these conversations."


Ummm....maybe they should have
 
I really don't see how it's a bad investment unless there is a clause in the contract that states he will still be paid if he is unable to continue coaching due to illness, or death.
