Cafe Spiazzo gone?

the location up near 2222 and balcones (forget the name of the street.)

called their restaurant, and got a "no longer in service" message.

what's the scoop?

i went there for valentine's day about 3 years ago. i liked the place. not surprised if it went under. it didn't have the throughput others did.

I drove by there about a week ago. It's gone. Don't know why - I really loved that place & it seemed to get business.

They had an ownership/management change back in '02. I heard the quality had fallen off somewhat since then. When they closed the doors a couple months ago, the owner said that business had slowed like usual in the summertime, but it just never picked back up again.
