Cabo Lodging?

Planning a long weekend in Cabo at the end of April - never been. Looks like there are lots of nice resorts to choose from. Any advice? Not really interested in the all inclusive. How important to be close to 'town'? Interested more in the Cabo resorts than the Los Cabos resorts (won't be taking the clubs). Many thanks!

I'll always stay in town. My favorite hotel has gone through some name changes and renovations, but it's still the best location. It's called the Me Cabo. The Link
Great pool, right on the only swimmable beach, walk to town. It used to be the Melia San Lucas.

We stayed at Dreams when it was a Melia - fantastic resort in the corridor. If you're not for clubs, stay on the San Jose Del Cabo side... several resorts on the beach and you can walk to the more authentic Mexican town of the two.

I second the Hilton. Very nice hotel. My wife and I stayed there for our honeymoon and will probably stay there every time we go back. Stop next door to Las Ventanas and have an awesome meal. Be prepared to drop an arm and a leg, however.

don't mean to threadjack, but I'll be going in May, staying at the Westin. Best golf courses? Under $150.
