Bye Week Catch 22

Attended Sat with one of my daughters. She marched in LHB for five years and reminded me of how pumped up the crowd was the week after 45>35 when Mizzou came to town. They may have been ranked #1 at the time. She said it was the only time in her five years that they actually marched into a full stadium and the crowd was absolutely going crazy. Even the Come Late, Leave Early crowd (behind the home bench) were in their seats. Too bad we're not home for another three weekends.

I mean... it's gonna be KU. Don't get me wrong, I love playing OU in the State Fair every year, but our home schedule takes a serious hit by being in the Big 12 and taking a neutral site game for our best opponent most years. It's tough to get up for a 2-3 team (most likely 2-5 when we play them) with no conference wins in over 1100 days, and the game's on LHN. Not exactly prime time material.

I'd love to pretend that we're the same rowdy fans for every single game, but we're just not.
