buying a used Mac laptop?

anyone know anything about buying a used/refurbished mac? i've looked around online and found a few options, ranging from around $550 to over $1000. Anyone know if particular sites are more trustworthy than others, etc? Anyone have a used mac laptop for sale?

i've looked at macofalltrades.com, a couple items on ebay, powermax.com, and a few more i can't remember, i need to go look them up again.

Did you check smalldog.com? I've never bought a refurb cpu from them, but they've been around forever and I've bought a lot of other stuff.
