It likely will be this year. The only time I have ever seen no tickets being sold was Ricky's senior season. Also the first time I ever saw a predominately UT crowd at the game. It has always meant more for the okies and they always had more people there. This year expect a 60/40 ou crowd. But finding a ticket is not going to be hard whether it is on here, Craigslist or outside the Cotton Bowl.
The game day ticket includes a ticket to enter the fairgrounds, which in itself costs about $30 (?).
For this reason, many selling tickets stand right across the street from the fairgrounds to sell ducats.
Your only problem this year will be to avoid being trampled once you announce willingness to purchase tickets. I suggest hiring a bodyguard to prevent assault from overzealous vendors. They may actually pay you to take the tickets off their hands.
Fyi, there are substantial quantities of tickets on the Texas side for $95 ea on stubhub however they all say UPS so it may be getting too late for that delivery.
There are many Horn fans who will sell their tickets only to other Horn fans, so hopefully you will encounter some of these guys with extra tickets. They will prefer to see another Longhorn in the stadium, especially if you will be sitting right next to them.
This year, there will be a lot of red in our section, I'm afraid. That's how it always is for the underdog in this series.
You could just go to the ticket office at the North End Zone of DKR -Texas Memorial Stadium starting today at 9 am. Tickets are walk up only. For questions call 512-232-3865.
That's how easy it is to get Texas tickets for the game. I remember as a student how hard it was to get tickets. Then later it took a large Longhorn Foundation to just get crappy tickets in the end zone or even behind it.
How the mighty have fallen. Now they are selling them at the ticket office like they were for New Mexico State.
