buying a new grill

I want to buy a new grill but I don't know much about what to look for in a grill. I want a propane grill. And my budget is around $200. Anyone have any suggestions on a grill I could buy? Or at least could you tell me what I need to look for?

I suggest that you don't buy a propane grill at all.

Wood and/or Lump Charcoal > Propane

If you are hellbent on propane I would make sure that it had cast iron or brass burners and cast iron or porcelain coated grates. The guts are more important than the shell.

My FIL recently purchased two smaller propane grills instead of one larger one. He actually paid less (as per 12th's post, just get good guts, who cares what the shell looks like), and still has plenty of grill surface area. Also, they're way more portable this way

. something to think about.

Best advice, EVAR! Propane will save you maybe 5 minutes? It still has to heat.

The flavor from wood / charcoal is significant.

The Link

Behold something that does a bit of everything and within your price range. I have a Brinkman gas grill. One of the larger more expensive ones and I have loved it. I love propane for ease of grilling (which includes a bit faster time, but also not having to mess with charcoal ect). I confess there are times when I wish I had ANOTHER grill that was charcoal and have looked into getting one for the days I really want to cook. I will probably get a charcoal grill/smoker combo.
The Brinkman linked is not one I know about, but I have enjoyed the product I have of theirs, and this one will do both in case you want the versatility and option of cooking with either method or even smoking.
