I'll dvr it and watch it tomorrow.

These things are easy to predict. He'll talk about what he feels his administration has accomplished and what they hope to accomplish with the little time they have left. He will talk about the need to stay the course in Iraq and how we are succeeding (his view). But most importantly, "The state of our union is strong (everyone stands up and claps for a really long time)."

I was just thinking about this..I doubt he will say anything interesting..he'll gives some crap about stimulating the economy and how the surge is working. But overall, he'll never admit that I wasted two votes on his free spending, pro illegal immigration ***!

No, I'd rather read the transcript than listen to him talk..

I'm more or less a Bush supporter most of the time, but I'll even admit he comes off like a retarded chimp at times when he gives a speech.

Usually, it's when he's speaking about something he doesn't give a damn about, which will be what this entire SOU will be about I would guess.

I think Bush sounds legitimately presidential when speaking about foreign policy, war on terror etc and I think it's b/c he cares about and is invested in those topics. The other stuff- I really don't think he gives a crap about and it shows.

There will also be some serious clapping with intermittent shots of ted kennedy's whiskey nose. So yes, I will watch it. Its better than regular television. I hope he gives some energy to other issues than terrorism. I am sure he will. Should be an entertaining evening.

Excellent critique of the Bush presidency, that's as fair and level as I've heard anyone describe what is going on.

1 nit to pick- I don't think the president necessarily has to be a detail guy (carter was and that didn't work out so well) so much as a task master and a good judge of character- make sure his people are following up as he wants it to.
