BURNT ORANGE LIGHTS

"The stars at night, shine big and bright.
But not as bright as the new burnt orange lights that Texas athletics director Chris Del Conte revealed in a stunning video on Thursday. The new fixtures take home games at the DKR to the next level, basking the entire stadium with the Longhorns' signature color. While the season opens vs. Rice on Sept. 2, fans likely won't be able to witness the glow until later due to a 2:30 p.m. start time." AUSTIN AMERICAN STATESMAN

They're simply bright orange - it's hard to illuminate something with a distinctly darkened shade.

Overall, I like it. I'll reserve final judgement until we see how it looks during a game, and how they make use of it - probably best to save it for only a few big moments, and not while you're trying to see anything on the field. That leaves out pretty much the entire pregame show and most of halftime. So...between quarters?
