Burning a day in Abilene

I am going to a wedding in Abilene May 1. I'm thrilled. Even worse, I have to burn a whole day there due to logistics. Where is a decent spot that's not a Hooters or a Chiles to sit and drink beer for few hours. Maybe catch the ponies on TV?

You know the t-shirts that say "Keep Austin weird"? The mall in Abilene had some that read "Keep Abilene boring!"

You might try the bar at Famous Dave's, I think there might be a TV there. There is also a Buffalo Wild Wings by the mall. I'll edit if Lostboy1 has any other suggestions.

Well my ex-wife lives there. I could give you a few ideas about the area lakes and landfills you should visit. I bet you could even pick up a few $ while your at it.
