any recommendations? Who does these and does anyone here have any recommendations? BBQ Outfitters, Austin Outdoor Kitchens are ones I've seen adds for.
Saw this @ CostCo off William Cannon & MoPac today & thought of your thread:
(slide out drawers with round bases are for propane tanks... looks like it takes 3 of them, & there are ports in the back for running in what I think are hoses -or- electricity - or- both).

It also splits into 3 different sections with the narrow center an independant component. Didn't look to see if it's on wheels.
If you don't have a CostCo account & want one 'o these bad boys, send a PM & I'll save you the registration fee (I live in Oak Hill).
That C-co unit doesn't look 1/2 bad. If the quality is decent, it'd sure be a no-hassle set-up that could likely be upgraded/customized to make a really nice deal.
We are in the market right now as well. As part of our pool construction we are adding the outdoor kitchen.
It will cost us approximately 3K total. We are using limestone and leuters (sp?) for the base and counters. We are buying the grill top ourselves for +/- 700. Add a Large propane burner for crawfish/fish fry/beans +/- 100. Tap the water line from our Sprinkler system to a sink that drains into the yard with french drain +/- 250(permitting from the city to have a real drain is a pain in the ***.) Additionally we are doing a built in bar-back style cooler with drain+/- 400. It was the wife's idea and a good one I think.
We figured we couldn't cool enough beer in a small dorm fridge to keep us or our guests properly hydrated.
We are going to light everything with low wattage lights so no electrician is required.
The only thing we will be missing is an electric outlet for blenders etc...
Smoker won't be built in. The Oklahoma Joe that is away from the main living area does the trick.
Pike, be sure to send out the when & where's in enough advance notice - me 'n the wife are there.
Luke, No. I take photos of roofing damage all the time, plus use it for insurance estimates / negotiations, photos with satisfied customers, & of course there's the ocasional Mexican with hovering 3 Stooges & Lady Madonna on his truck's tailgate...
Right now, actually, I have a fun lil' 22" pic to throw on the Esther's thread but don't have the time to go outside 'n get my digital for the upload.
Pike that sounds awesome!
I love the idea for the sink tied into the sprinkler system. Are you doing all of that yourself, or someone for you? If you're in/around austin, who is building it for you?
I'm expanding y patio currently. I am going th cheap, but effective route for "built-in" cooking. I went to my stonemason's house. he had simply built a stone structure, chopped the top of a rolling propane/gas grill off, and "dropped it in" flush with the rock. It looks VERY clean, and the grill's cost is peanuts compared to the built in models that cost $1500+.
