Anybody have a home from a builder in Central Houston(inside the loop) that they are happy with?

Does anybody know of a link to reviews or info on Houston builders?

The last 2 homes I looked at were less than 7 yrs old but had serious foundation problems.

my townhome was built by ANC Homes... been here 2 years with no problems... good quality and the bulder is a stand-up guy.. they've come over to do touch up stuff and fix little problems without questioning it.. also did some minor upgrades for me at no cost..The Link they're doing a large project now just north of the Heights at Shepherd/34th...

I've got a townhome style home coming on the market in Bellaire, but inside the Loop, on the border of West U. It is the end unit with lots of windows. The builder was Bill Scott and HSK Builders, who traditionally do larger homes in Tanglewood and River Oaks. Great quality in the details, granite in kitchen and master bath, hardwood floors, GE profile appliances, trane air conditioner units. I looked for over a year and wasn't able to find better quality.

ldogg,
Have you seen what they are building and where on 34th? Those things are going to be worth **** in a year or two. They look cheap and they are right next to some ratty *** apts., and back up to a train track. I think they outthought themselves on that project.

Leviit and Robbins Custom Home Builders or Larry Skelton Homes are the best two builders in Bellaire.

HornyRingman...
possibly... they are also anticipating that the spread of nicer homes in the Heights area will continue northward... there is substantial development occuring just on the other side of 610 from where they are building... of course it is all a crapshoot on their part..
I do know that they are considering the safety issues.. having a security gate for the community... optional security cameras for your home with internet access to them... I wouldn't buy from them in that location just yet, but they are betting that property rates will go up there..
I know that they bought the 2 lots that the 8 townhomes built for my community are for less than $100k... considering they put 8 homes at about $230k each on this land I'd say they made out well... and my neighborhood is growing like crazy.. just like Rice Military did about 3 years ago... so who knows.. they might be on to something with that location..

If that is the area behond Tony's on Ella then I think it is a lot like rice miliatry about 5-7 years ago.

It should do alright but not have significant price appreciation for awhile just like rice mil.

burdine..
I'm just north of Washington Ave... so just north of Rice Military... got my house for $213 two years ago.. I'd list it at $235-240 if I wanted to sell right now... not too shabby... and they only keep building more and more around me...
