I am pleasantly surprised that both sides were able to compromise enough to pass a budget bill. The fact that the far right and far left were both against it makes me think it must be a decent bill

I think the GOP has figured out that if they don't rock the boat too much and give Hillary any ammunition, they have 2016 in the bag.

You guys have a lot more faith in govt and much lower standards than i do. The only raeson the budget passed was so that each and evry one of them can go back home and try to deflect the notion that they are a do nothing congress. Complete and total seldf serving budget.

Why in the hell would we pass a budget that no one has actually audited and that is hundreds of billions more than we have revenue for?

The only "compromise" they came up with is that all of them face reelection in the not too distant future.

So you believe we should have passed a balanced budget? Because THAT would be a news story.

The American "thinking" public needs to take little victories like this one. Of course it's not perfect, but it's definitely better than what was going on at this time last year.
