Budapest

Going to be in Budapest for a few days later in the week. First time there. Anyone have any tips on must see places? Also, any good spots for nightlife? Thanks in advance.

I was planning to go there two years ago, but took a detour in Serbia and ended up partying with the Serbs... so, let us know what you find.

I was there in 1989. I got to imagine it is a much different place now. It had a very Eastern Europe/Soviet feel to it back then, so I am probably not much help. The big deal was that a McDonald's had just opened up.

There is a Buda Side and a Pest side, the Danube separating the two. I think the Pest side is the more lively modern side and the Buda side is more umm.. provencial.

The paraliment building was pretty interesting, fashioned after the Bristish Parliment.
