Over/Under for Briles as the head coach at Baylor. Set it at four years and I will take the under. These guys need to drop down a couple of divisions and play West Texas and Abilene Christian.
Go Bears! Argh, he missed the extra point. I'd love to see Baylor win against a ranked WF team. I noticed on the aggy site they are pulling for Wake and making fun of Baylor. I so glad I attended a university that has not need to make fun of Tech and Baylor the way aggy does.
Ah, Baylor, Baylor, Baylor. What are we going to do with you? Oh yeah, kick your *** to oblivion again.
Honestly, am I the only one that was holding out hope for a great showing by them that would make us proud? I know I am still trying to remember Wake as a bottom dweller, not as a ranked team.
What has frustrated me about Baylor is that they were being good on defense for two plays and then giving up a long 3rd down, time and time again. Wake was starting just about all drives in Bear territory. Ugh.
would love to see Briles start off on the right foot--just going against tradition that is baylor football--keep your heads up guys, it cannot get any worse
I keep wondering why #1 Crawford is still on the field. It's frightening to think what Coach Boom would have said/done to him by now. Yet Baylor leaves him on the field.
I disagree about Wake looking mediocre. They are not a top 10 team or anything, but they are a solid top 25 team. Their defense is very good, and but for a number of drops by the WRs, their offense would look good as well. Skinner is a player.
The starting QB for Wake got pulled. I wonder if there will be a game this season (against Div I-A) where the opposing team doesn't pull their starting QB against Baylor. That is except Tech of course.
I like Briles, he is a good man and I want to see him succeed. Unfortunately, he took the BU gig... hell, even the Phil Steele College Football mag has adopted the word "Baylored" for teams that are going nowhere and firing coaches after a short 4 or 5 years... not nearly long enough to turnaround moribund programs. A turnaround success story for Baylor would be good for that program, the university, the Big 12 and college football. Unfortunately for Briles , it will be like climbing Mount Everest with little gear.
