I thought she had fouled out at that time. But she has gotten the benefit of that call (lowered shoulder, clearing with her forearm) a lot. The foul I wonder about is the one on the layup. She had no chance of stripping that ball. Have to wonder if she was simply frustrated at the steal by ND.
The foul I did think was bogus was the Simms push off where Mulky got
The technical. But it evened out later in the game. I love watching Mulky blow a gasket.
Teams like Baylor and Uconn struggled tonight when the officiating was not clearly in their favor. The officials really had BU behind the 8-ball in the first half with some home court calls. But I don't think baylor has a ton of room to complain because I think officials have won them more games than they lost.
On another note, I don't think Mulkey to La Tech is as far fetched as some may think. They have the capacity to pay her 1.5 mil plus. And with Aston hot on her heels on the recruiting trail, Mackenzie and odyssey both graduating, and her son being a freshman right down the road at LSU could just be a perfect storm for the lady techsters to return to glory.
Kim will need to make sure Ruston has a nice Dollar Store to buy those pretty clothes she loves to wear before she takes that La. Tech job! I know she has continued to go back home to get her hair fixed all these years....
I'll have to verify the exact number that I read earlier. But I know that it was over the million that she currently makes at Baylor. The rationale is that she is so iconic in Ruston, that they would make her the face of the athletic department. A la Pat Summit (dont shoot the messenger for the reference).
I guess a coach's salary can be justified based on how much notoriety (for winning) they bring the university; that typically is what leads to sizeable donations to the university.
Not sure what type of fan attendance La Tech had during their peak years, but selling 3,000 tickets a game isn't going to pay for a $1 million a year coaching salary.
