BU vs. AM

I'm watching....both teams playing pretty good so far.

CU keeping up with OK as well. Haven't checked on the KSU/TTU game in the last few mins., but i think KSU was pulling away.....

i'm watching the OU game. ugly 1st half...lots of turnovers. boom! 3-pointer by Colorado. game is tied 28-28. wasn't expected it to be tied at the half.

wow, this game's gonna go down to the wire....

CU and OK tied at 28 at the half......

other scores from the ESPN site:

ISU 63 - Mizzou 38...2 mins to play.

K State 53 - Tech 43...1 min to play

Nebraska 65 - Kansas 52...2 mins to play

man, A&M's court is so ugly. and i say that every time i watch one of their games, but i just can't get over it. ugly.

why did Baylor walk it up and kill so much time? they are lucky they are getting the ball out of bounds.

oh ok. for some reason i was thinking A&M was leading at that point. i'm trying to watch too many games! wow that's two tough losses for A&M so far. and it's not going to get any easier. next two games are at Oklahoma State and at Texas.

Yeah, tough losses for A&M. I was hoping they'd win tonight, just to even out the Big 12 south. If Baylor keeps winning, they gain more and more momentum, along with OU.

Like i mentioned in the OU thread...if we show up there and play like we know how to play for the WHOLE 40 minutes...we win. It will be a hard task to accomplish on their home court, but, we're capable!!

i would love to see the horns play 40 great minutes against a top team. especially in Norman!

back to the OU game. OU pulled ahead, but Colorado isn't going away...they are shooting much better than they did in the Texas game, but they have missed 9 free throws. OU leads 62-53.

tott...actually the thread i posted that on was on the "Secret to success in norman" thread. Anyway, i wanted to know what you all thought about staying behind CP instead of "fronting" her. She gets a lot of lobs....but, i'm not sure she could shoot over the top of Ashley or AG, plus it would put us in great position to have her blocked out and not get her misses. In OK's game tonight, CP looked exhausted and frustrated at halftime. Getting her frustrated would be key to our game plan.

If that happens...her streak ends, and we WIN.

But...just my own thoughts!!!

my only worry about playing behind CP is her ability to seal. she seals off for the pass inside, and she can also seal the lane for Danielle Robinson to drive in and lay it up. i'm sure we'll probably mix it up on defense, though, depending on who is in the game. i just hope that Ashleys can stay out of foul trouble. they tend to get foul calls when they try to block shots.

okay, i agree with you. Robinson will be hard to stop with her drive moves, as was evident in their game with A&M. I must say that i was very impressed with her moves to the basket.......she has improved so much from last year and is quite scary.

I still think keeping CP off the boards will be key. HOW we do that will be a mystery. Also, AP has been a huge surprise and has a lot of assists to CP. Focus on one....lose the other!!

Anyway, i'm sure Coach G has a good game plan and if it doesn't work in the first 10 mins....try another one. I just hate to see the ladies play the full-court "all-out" D that lost the game at Purdue...even if it is a strength for most games.

Robinson is quick. she killed A&M with her drives to the bucket. but we have more size inside with our shot blockers, so hopefully she won't get as many easy lay-ups.

keeping CP off the boards is another story. defending her in general is tough. i kept looking at Colorado's post player (i think she was #44) and thinking how exhausted she looked tonite. but she didn't really have anyone to sub in for her. we have more depth in the post. Earnie is our undersized warrior inside, and i really hope she has a great game. we need that type of intensity and aggressiveness.

i'm ready for the game right now! do you think having a week off before the OU game will have any effect on the team, good or bad?

Good question. The holiday break seemed to really take some steam out of our team, so it's hard to say. But, they were also away from each other for that time.

Honestly i think with them practicing together and being together for a week will do them a lot of good. They seem to be a really close and cohesive team as friends AND family. My opinion is......

SHOCKER for the Horns AT ou...... (as i'm sure the horns are the underdogs)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think you can play behind CP...she has too much power and can just back her defender deeper and deeper into the lane until she is right under the basket. If you care going to play behind her you better have someone in front also.
