THANKS to all you long-time hornfans. I realize i'm still a rookie on this forum, but, i've only been in Austin for 4 years. But, growing up in NC, i've been a Coach G fan for years now. I missed 2 home games last year, and none so far this year....also planning on going to College Station and Baylor this season. It's amazing how being in Austin for a short time turns one into such a big Longhorn's fan.

Anyway, just wanted to tell you all THANKS for being so accepting to newcomers to the forum!!!

Thanks for supporting the Longhorns! We need new blood, as evidenced by the empty seats in the Erwin Center and the on this site. I love seeing new people posting on here - sometimes it just feels like no one is really interested, and I know that is not true! So, please keep posting and cheering for the Horns!!!

Thanks Rexy...
It means a lot to feel accepted! I started posting here when TX made it to the NCAA tournament last spring, and i was on a plane to NC when TX was playing UCONN. KILLED ME!! I had a few text msg's about the game when i got there, but it was the LOOONGEST plane ride of my life.

I do appreciate acceptance...so, thanks again!!!

Thanks to all of you. I feel better being able to express my true, dedicated, Longhorn enthusiasm. We are definitely a true contender this year!

Do you all make plans to meet before "away" games to be in the same section, or do the horns fans just sit in the general admission section? I'd like to be involved with the fan section going to away games....well, at least the A&M and Baylor games.

Going to the away games is tricker that it used to be. I remember when there used to be more Longhorns in the stands at Baylor and A&M than local fans. Both gyms used to be general admission seating and I loved it because we could sit on the front row. At that time, it was hard to get a seat in the lower level of the EC - a long time ago, I sat in the mezzanine at the women's games - partly because i was poor - but there were a lot of us up there!

Anyway, it was such a treat to go to away games and be able to sit up close and personal. But those times are gone.

Generally, I think you just have to buy a ticket wherever when you go to Baylor or A&M (at least that is what I do). I think fans that travel to all the games, buy a group of tickets at the same time so they can sit together. I'm not sure though, because I'm not a part of that group. I know we used to get a bus charter to Baylor and A&M and even Lubbock - and we would have tickets all together in one area. Also, I think sometimes the Baylor arena is sold out for our games, so you have to get advanced tickets or buy one on the street.

Wow....i was hoping i could just drive to each game and get a general admission ticket.

I'll try it anyway.....

I LOVE UT WOMEN'S B-BALL!!!!!!!!

Oh, you can drive to the games, and probably get a ticket, but you may be hanging from the rafters - but DO IT because it is great fun!!!

I love to see new fans take a interest in the womens team. This will be a exciting year in the Big 12.I look forward to meeting some you all at the games this year. I have been a fan since 1982, at that time I was 15 years old. I fell in love with Texas womens.

Ya know...... we used to tailgate occasionally in lot 108, just south of the Erwin Center, about a couple hours before games. Maybe we need to set one of those up again, so that we can see each other and meet the new faces! What do you think?????

A tailgate would be great...I often have kids in tow on weekends who want to go to kids court, but I would make a point of coming to a tailgate.

Crap! Not sure i can make that one. I've talked a few of my "non-basketball fan" friends into going to the game for "pack the house", and we've made plans to meet up for lunch before the game.

If you all do it again after that one....I'M IN!!!

Longhorn womens basketball fans are much nicer than football fans. Since i joined 5 years ago I don't remember a single time were I was bashed for posting something that someone didn't like on the womens forum, but i have had my head handed to me several times on the football forum. Even been suspended.

I haven't had my head handed to me...my *** is a different story, but usually deservedly so....LOL

It just took me a little while to learn the proper etiquette.
