BSG - Who is Watching?

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

Awesome. Simply Awesome.

Chief does not deserve a Sharon or anybody. He deserved being put out of an airlock. However, he got lucky with the mission to the colony coming up. Chief is caustic and weak. He manned up and did what he needed to do, isolate himself. Bye Chief.

What he did at the end was pretty bad *** though. SNAP goes the neck.

Cavil, what a weak son of a *****. Suicide? Really? What a cop out and what a turd. Rather than die with honor or like a leader he offs himself. Turd.

It was a happy episode, it was also sad. I am melancholy about it being over with and very happy with how they did it. At times I was not sure I would feel this way.

150,000 years later and Cylons are blazing through the Galaxy. What's in your wallet?

It wasn't perfect. It was maybe even more than a little predictable. But overall I find it quite refreshing to see a GREAT TV show with a suitable ending.

He did a good job with it for sure. Great acting. It was sort of awesome we don't get the reward of somebody killing him. Nope, he off's himself instead. It displayed the inner fear he had that drove him.

I watched it on dvr with a friend and his house mate came home just when it started. He plopped down and asked what we were watching. We tried to warn him that he would be frustrated trying to follow along, that it was a series finale. He stuck with it and yes, asked lots of questions.

If we could answer quickly and enhance what he was watching without too much distraction we would But sometimes, poor guy, our response was, "Sorry, can't help ya on this, this time".

But he did have one very astute observation.

"Man, these Cylons, or Skin Jobs as you call them, are really hot. "

Truer words have not been spoken.

I cannot imagine sitting down and watching the entire conclusion of this series without all the back story. He now wants to watch the series. Can this be done in this fashion?

I think that watching the series from the beginning will be better in that you will watch for things, depending on how much you explained to him. Losthubby has watched it from the beginning, I have been more sporadic. But we have seasons 1-4.0 and Razor - so that will be my "summer project" - start to finish.

Cavil's suicide was probably the biggest twist for me. That whole scene went down so fast, I made LH rewind it and play it again. In retrospect, I agree with Stockwell, that was more in character. Tigh killing him would have been expected. When he put the gun up to his mouth, I think I yelled "What is he doing?!?" Much the same way the people on the deck probably did or thought. It will be awesome to see behnd the scenes stuff when it comes out on DVD.

We still do not agree on who the "dying leader" is. Laura, Cara, Adama, Sam? Could make a case for each.

Conversations about Earth once they were there were interesting. Laura did not know what the planet was called. They talked about the different continents as unknowns. You just don't think of looking at Earth with "new eyes".

Best series finale, maybe. I thought MASH's season finale was pretty great itself. But I think this edges out MASH by a tiny bit!

Oh,and I loved ending it with Hendrix's version of "All Along the Watchtower".

I think that the only dying leader was Laura. She died after she "led" them. Cara did not die because she is not human. I think she is an entity of sorts. Adama is alive, physically. I don't know about emotionally.

Anders did not really lead them, he just helped out in a big way. He will die by running into the sun. Well, before he actually runs into it he will melt.

That is my case for Laura being the one.

I think the dying leader was the Galactica. It was "dying" from the very beginning of the series and when she finally gave out, they had finally found their way (to a new) home.

Most memorable series moment had to be the Galacta jumping in at 100,000 feet above the colony-concentration camp and catching fire on the way down.

I did like the optimistic end note that maybe this time around upgraded humanity gets it right.

Seemed like a pretty sad ending for most of the characters. Not sure if you would have told them on Day 1 this is how it would end, they would have gone thru it all.

However, BSG did a great job ending the series over the past few episodes. Not many shows would spend so much of the last show giving you background info on the characters.

Would have liked to see Starbuck remain on Earth. Sucked for Lee to lose everyone in a matter of minutes.

wow... amazing...

so was 'god' count iblis? at the end head baltar mentioned that he hated going by the name god...

but again amazing...

So what happened to Starbuck? And what was Baltar in the end, just a toster loving freak? I never paid enough attention.

I am pretty sure Starbuck was an angel. She was in the human form but an angel.

Baltar, at the very least, is a high ranking Arc Angel of sorts or a Deity. Head Caprica Six was with him as well when they show a glimpse into the future, which is now.

No, that was 'head Baltar' at the end. Remember he is the one inside Carpica Six's head. Baltar Baltar stayed on the new Earth with Caprica Six.

Yes, I should have stated that both in the end were the "Heads", Caprica and Baltar. The human and Skin Job versions died 150,000 or so years earlier.
